“Ronan O’Shea was hired as director for our 2018 Spring production of Bonnie and Clyde in September 2017. He was known to the society through previous work with us and upon meeting him it was clear he had a unique take on staging this production. I chose Ronan for the role as his passion and ingenuity were clear. Throughout the rehearsal period, it became clear to me that I had made to correct decision in choosing him. Ronan was on top of any issues as they arose and was prompt and expert in his dealing with them.
Any production meetings I had with him were easy, as he took on board my opinions or concerns, as well as clearly and knowledgeably explaining his reasoning and ideas when questioned. Ronan was never anything short of courteous and professional in all dealings with cast and crew, and I only heard good things from other team members about him. The production of Bonnie and Clyde was marvellously executed, and Ronan’s technical expertise was clear throughout the performance. The show he provided us was beyond expectation and a credit to his hard work and perseverance.

For Children’s Hour he was awarded best lighting design. Ronan has done numerous lighting designs since Children’s hour each design becomes more intricate, detailed and impressive. I have also worked with Ronan on some video projects and he has a prolific eye for aesthetics. I needed to film a piece for a show I was directing which included visual design. Ronan created such gorgeous visceral and striking visuals for this. Ultimately Ronan is an extremely hard worker who pays close attention to detail. “Ronan was hired to as a graphic designer, photographer and technical advisor for our Spring Production of Cabaret. Having worked with us previously, I was confident in his abilities and I am extremely happy with the services he delivered to us. The poster(see right) which Ronan designed for us was of an exceptionally high standard, expertly conveying the themes and ideas of our show in a creative and unique manner. He sourced the location and arranged a convenient time to meet with our lead actor in a courteous and professional manner. All of the graphic design was carried out by Ronan and we received the poster well in advance of our show for use as promotional material.
We were also extremely happy with the photography services which Ronan provided to us. He took a number of programme headshots and production shots for us, all of which were to a professional standard. He arranged a day which suited us on which to take the shots and all of the cast and production crew passed on extremely positive comments about their dealings with Ronan. We were so pleased with the photographs that he took, that they were subsequently used by us on our social media accounts and in a portfolio representing us at the BICS National Awards.
His services as a technical advisor were also of impeccable quality throughout the production. As our production team was largely made up of students, having somebody who technical queries could be directed to was of considerable benefit to us. His knowledge of the theatre space and all of the equipment contained within was exhaustive and on more than one occasion I found my queries were answered comprehensively and in a most professional manner.
I cannot overstate Ronan’s professionalism and proficiency in all three of the areas in which we employed his services. His courteous nature combined with his extensive knowledge of his craft made him an absolute pleasure to work with and I would have no qualms about hiring him again, or recommending his services to others.”
